The games may have been pushed back a day due to weather concerns, but that didn't stop the #17 St. Cloud State baseball team. The Huskies swept a doubleheader Sunday over Wayne State College by scores of 6-0 and 6-3 at Dick Putz Field in St. Cloud.
In games heard on KVSC.org, the Huskies got a strong outing from Nick Anderson who pitched six scoreless innings in the first contest. St. Cloud was helped by poor defense from the Wildcats who committed four errors.
In game two, Logan Birr got his fourth win of the season on the hill. After Birr allowed two Wayne State runs in the fourth inning, St. Cloud responded with a four run rally, capped off by a Phil Imholte double that gave SCSU a two run lead.
With the pair of wins, the Huskies sit at 22-6 on the season and 10-4 in the NSIC. The squad is in action this afternoon as they complete the series with Wayne State with another doubleheader at Joe Faber Field. Keep it tuned to KVSC for a recap of those games.
