Basketball Goes Cold
01/25/2010 - 12:00 PM
The men's basketball team lost back to back games for the first time this season and the women's team lost two games in a row for just the second time as Husky basketball faltered this weekend in conference play.
The men were held to a season low 60 points on Friday while Taylor Witt was not able to reach double digits in scoring for the first time in 24 games. The loss to the University of Mary on Friday was eased with a close 66-64 win at Northern State on Saturday. The Huskies are now in 3rd place in the NSIC conference with a conference mark of 8-3.
While the men were able to rebound on Saturday, the women's team did not fair as well with two defeats on the weekend. Saint Cloud lost by 17 points on Friday and 19 on Saturday to drop their record to 8-10 overall with a 3-8 tally in conference action.
Both the men and the women return home this weekend to take on Wayne State and Augustana. KVSC will be providing coverage of the games on Saturday against Augustana following the women's hockey game. Tip-off for the women is at 4 p.m. and for the men at 6. Listen to 88.1 all weekend for Husky sports coverage.
