Basketball Plays Three this Week

The men’s and women’s basketball teams were in action on Tuesday night in Duluth to take on NSIC opponent the UMD Bulldogs.
The men’s team defeated the Bulldogs 81-66 for the third strait win in just five days. Shaun Jensen lead all players in the game with 19 points. Theo Rothstein and Demarius Cruz also scored in the double digits for the Huskies. It was the 14th game in a row that Rothstein has notched double digit totals. The team is now 12-2 on the season and 9-2 in conference play.
The ladies were unable to take down the Bulldogs falling by a final score of 50-57. SCSU had the lead by one at the half but was unable to stop UMD in the second half. Nicole Anderson led the Huskies with 11 points in the contest. The women’s team is now 11-3 overall and 7-3 in the NSIC.
Both teams will be home on Friday and Saturday, hosting Minnesota State University-Mankato and Concordia University, St. Paul. The games are part of the Celebrate! St. Cloud State event across campus.
