Husky Hockey Stays Hot
01/17/2010 - 12:00 PM
Behind two David Eddy goals on Saturday and great goaltending from Dan Dunn and Mike Lee, the Saint Cloud State Men's Hockey team swept their third consecutive series this last weekend. The 14th ranked Huskies swept No. 17 Quinnipiac University in non-conference action and seem to be getting hot at the right time.
The special teams netted two more power play goals in the series and Garrett Raboin also scored a short handed goal on Friday. The shorty on Friday was the team's 8th of the year which leads all Division one teams.
The Huskies will ride their six-game winning streak into this weekend when they play a home and home series against the University of Minnesota. The Gophers beat Saint Cloud all six times last year including twice in postseason, so this match-up should have extra motivation this time around. The Gophers have been struggling this year but currently sit just four points behind St.Cloud coming into the weekend.
Listen to KVSC for coverage of both games, with puck drop at 7:07 p.m. Friday at the National Hockey Center and 5:07 p.m. Saturday at Mariuci Arena. The pre-game show starts twenty minutes before each contest.
