Jensen Signs Tryout Contract With Griffins

Husky Hockey defenseman Nick Jensen has signed an amateur try out with the Detroit Red Wings’ American Hockey League affiliate, the Grand Rapids Griffins. Jensen was a 2009 fifth-round pick for the Red Wings.
Jensen led the Huskies defense in points this season with four goals and 27 assists in 42 games.
Jensen is not the only Husky to sign a professional contract this spring. Hobey Baker Award winner Drew Leblanc signed with Chicago, and Ben Hanowski signed with the Calgary Flames. Leblanc and Hanowksi played their first NHL games before the regular season ended.
