LeBlanc with Team USA
05/06/2013 - 11:00 AM
Drew LeBlanc ended his hockey career at St. Cloud State University just under two months ago and has already been a member of two other organizations.
The senior co-captain signed with the Chicago Blackhawks of the NHL shortly after winning the Hobey Baker in April. He played two games with the organization prior to the NHL Playoffs beginning. LeBlanc is not eligible to play in the post-season since he was signed after the trade deadline.
However, LeBlanc has found yet another team to play with. He is currently participating and finding success with Team USA in their pursuit of a World Cup in Helsinki, Finland. In the first game of competition LeBlanc notched two assists that helped lift the USA over Austria 5-3 on Saturday. Team USA then went on to play Latvia Sunday, winning 4-1. The next game is slated for tomorrow (Tuesday) against Russia. Team USA will continue to play in search of a Gold medal through the next couple weeks.
