This weekend the men’s hockey team will hit the road for the first time since early December. The team will travel to Grand Forks, ND for a pair of conference games.

After completing a conference sweep of the Denver Pioneers SCSU’s goaltender Ryan Faragher has earned WCHA honors. Faragher is the Defensive Player of the Week after he stopped 49 of 52 shots in the sweep. Other notes from the wins include Ben Hanowski's 100th career point, coach Bob Motzko's 150th career win and Drew LeBlanc's point game extension. LeBlanc currently has a 13-game pointstreak, he leads the nation in assists with 27 and ranks second in points with 34.

This weekend the team will head to Grand Forks to take on the University of North Dakota. Earlier this season when the teams met at the NHEC the Huskies fell 0-3 on Friday night before rebounding Saturday in a 5-2 victory. The Huskies are currently tied for first in the WCHA, just two points ahead of North Dakota. North Dakota ranks fifth in USCHO polls this week while the Huskies sit in 16th place.

KVSC Sports Directors Scott Gross and Gina Carlson will also be making the trip to North Dakota to call all the action. Tune in Friday at 7:15 for the pregame show and then again on Saturday at 6:45. For the latest in SCSU hockey news follow us on Twitter.
