Offense Wins Spring Game, Captains Named

The St. Cloud State football team held their annual spring game on Saturday and it was the Offense taking down the Defense 29-27 at Husky Stadium.
A modified scoring system was used in the game where the defense gained points by defensive stops, interceptions and fumble recoveries. It was a good day for quarterbacks as returning starter Phillip Klaphake went 11-of-16 for 121 yards and a touchdown and backup Taylor Berger completed four passes for 29 yards and a TD.
SCSU also named their captains for the 2011 season on Saturday. Klaphake and offensive lineman Matt Theis as the offensive captains while Tony Kubes and Thomas Gruis will captain the defensive side of the ball.
