The St. Cloud State men’s basketball team struggled on the road this past weekend, falling to MSU-Moorhead on Friday 77-64 and Northern State on Saturday 88-81.

One of the keys to the losses was the amount of fouls the Huskies committed. The Huskies committed 22 fouls leading to 26 free throw attempts for Moorhead on Friday and wound up with 23 fouls against NSU leading to 30 free throw attempts. St. Cloud State had free throw differentials of -9 against Moorhead and -12 against NSU.

Another key was the shooting differentials. The Huskies were outshot by 5.5% from the field against Moorhead and by 5.3% against NSU.

On the bright side, Gage Davis continued to shine recording 18 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists against the Dragons Friday before tallying 24 points despite being in foul trouble on Saturday.

The Huskies are now 4-6 on the season and 2-3 in conference play and will host rival University of Minnesota Duluth at 4pm on Saturday. The Huskies fell on the road to Duluth in the final seconds of the game earlier this season by a final of 68-66.
