Volleyball Tourney Recap
09/08/2009 - 11:00 AM
It was a tough weekend for the Saint Cloud State volleyball team as they hosted the Saint Cloud State tournament at Halenbeck Hall.
The Huskies opened the tournament with a tough loss to the 5th ranked Nebraska-Kearney Lopers three sets to one. SCSU rebounded in the nightcap though as they scored a hard fought five set win, 3-2.
Day two of the tournament wasn’t so kind to the Huskies however as they lost to Wayne State and Upper Iowa. SCSU was led on the weekend by Kayla Tschida who had a team high 50 kills and 17 blocks. First year libero Sarah Madden also made an impact for the Huskies with 63 digs and seven serving aces in the tourney.
Saint Cloud is now 2-6 overall and will travel to Kenosha, Wisconsin for the Wisconsin-Parkside Tournament September 11th-12th.
