Weekend Highlights from SCSU vs. Miami (OH) series

The #10/11 St. Cloud State University men's hockey team (1-2-1) rallied with a third period goal (listen here) by junior forward Jared Festler (Little Falls) to collect a 1-1 overtime tie against #4 Miami University (2-1-1) on Saturday, Oct. 16 at the National Hockey Center in St. Cloud, Minn.  As always, Matt Bishop, Eric Hawkins and Patrick Sullivan were at the NHC, bringing you all the action on KVSC.

Carter Camper scores for the University of Miami at 12:10 of the second period, giving the RedHawks a 1-0 lead.  Assists on the play were gained by Will Weber and Matt Tomassoni. Listen Here.

SCSU goaltender Dan Dunn was named the First Star of the game, thanks to his huge saves like this one, in the first period. Listen Here.

Connor Knapp was equally impressive for the University of Miami, collecting 24 saves in being named the game's Second Star.  These two third period saves kept the RedHawks (temporarily) in the lead. Listen Here.

Jared Festler gets the Huskies on the board with just over six minutes left in regulation, salvaging a tie with the RedHawks.  It was Festler's first goal of the season, assisted by Drew LeBlanc and Nick Jensen. Listen Here.
