The Huskies women’s hockey team put up an impressive sweep this weekend in Bemidji, posting a 3-1 on Friday night before posting a 1-0 shutout of the Beavers on Saturday.
Senior winger Alex Nelson tallied the first goal of the game Friday, while Cari Coen notched the game-winner late in the second period. Kalli Funk finished the scoring with the first goal of her Husky career.
On Saturday the Huskies got the only goal they needed in the game from sophomore Abby Ness late in the third period. Sophomore goaltender Julie Friend made 39 saves and recorded the shutout in the win.
