Wrestling Claims NSIC Championship

The SCSU wrestling team captured their second straight NSIC title last Thursday in Halenbeck Hall. The Huskies took down the Mavericks of Minnesota State Mankato 29-6 to seal the deal and remain undefeated. SCSU ties the NCAA Division II record for most consectutive dual match victories with 47. The dual was also coach Steve Costanzo’s 100th career victory with the Huskies. SCSU finished the season with a perfect 21-0 record.
The #1 ranked SCSU wrestling will start post-season action on Sunday with the Super Region 3 tournament in Waterloo, Iowa. The Huskies are defending champions for two years running and look to continue the streak after a perfect season. Listen to the action, that begins at 10 a.m. Sunday on the KVSC Sports Stream.
