1) When did you get involved with 88.1FM?
I joined this fine establishment when I transferred to SCSCU fall of 2013.
2. 2) What show(s) do you currently host on KVSC and what programs have you hosted in the past?
I’m currently hosting the Morning Show.
3.3) Please list some of the artists and musicians you consider to be a must play on your show(s)?
I’m a sucker for indie and Americana/folk music, and you’re bound to hear me play some bands like The National, Dawes, Lucius, The Avett Brothers, Chvrches, Arcade Fire, Divine Fits, Iron and Wine, Jim James/My Morning Jacket, Talking Heads, Blitzen Trapper, LCD Soundsystem, First Aid Kit, Metric, ANYTHING local, and much more!
4. ) Why are you involved with independent community radio at 88.1 FM?
I think KVSC is the best local source to find a variety of great music, and that’s something I enjoy taking part of. I love radio and I love music that’s off the beaten path, so this is the perfect place for me.
5.) What is in your personal CD player, iPod, or mp3 right now (BE HONEST)?
Little Green Cars is in my car stereo, it’s great music for me to belt it out to!
6.) Please disclose the most embarrassing music moment or concert you’ve attended or album you’ve bought (perhaps even shameful).
I once owned a post-2003 Now That’s What I Call Music cd. A travesty.
7.) What are your hobbies and interests?
I love going to concerts, buying records, and as for anything that doesn’t have to do with music, I have way too much knowledge than the average person should have about t.v. shows and movies, and I have a weakness for Target!
8. ) When you are not at work or KVSC, where can you most likely be found?
In the library struggling for an internet connection, at the gym, or braving the Minnesota cold in my dorm!
9. ) If it were the end of the world and you could only take five things with you, what would they be (BE HONEST)?
If a “thing” can be a collection of sorts, which I have now made the judgment that it can *evil laugh*, my five things would be…
My vinyl records, record player, Ipod, a charger for my Ipod of course, and my computer, so I can stream wonderful radio stations online, like KVSC!
10. ) What do you think is the future of radio?
Although more people are turning to internet radio and online music platforms, I think remarkable community and public radio stations will keep growing, and will remain to be a refuge for those starving for good music, like me!
