Rule One:
Each hour of the contest, nine questions will be broadcast on KVSC — unless it’s a speed round (double questions). The point value of the questions will range from 10-500 points. Each team that reports the correct answer to the Trivia Hotline — (320) 308-4747 –- in the allotted time is awarded that question’s point value.

Rule Two:
Teams may answer multiple times while the question is “open,” but only one answer will be accepted per team. Teams are allowed to make two guesses per call for up to TWO open questions.

Rule Three:
AVOID PHONE BANK JAM! You need to practice team restraint. There is a MAXIMUM of two simultaneous phone calls to our hotline from your team. We monitor how frequently each team contacts our phone bank. Please inform satellite players of this rule. Also note, cell phone batteries need re-charging frequently.

Rule Four:
Teams may not assist each other in any way, including trading answers. Violations of library laws will result in contest disqualification. Also, KVSC resources and personnel cannot be used as sources.

Rule Five:
Members of teams are not allowed on the KVSC premises during trivia weekend. Also, teams cannot intentionally try to sabotage another team by falsely representing them to KVSC staff, trivia writers, scorekeepers and phone-bank workers. Teams face forfeiture for violating these rules.

Rule Six:
All decisions made by station management and trivia writers are final. All registration information is kept confidential. The number of players on any team can be unlimited.

Rule Seven:
Scoring and question disputes will be entertained for TWO HOURS ONLY following a reported discrepancy. If you dispute a question, Internet sources will be treated as a lowest priority.

Rule Eight:
Your team HQ will be contacted Friday afternoon of trivia weekend to assign you a team number and other data. Use only your team number ALL weekend to identify your guesses and answers with the trivia hotline and dispute lines.

Rule Nine:
The team with the most points at 7pm Sunday is the winner. KVSC will not broadcast the scores for the final four hours of the contest. However, you may call the point-information or general information line to confirm your team score until hour 49. If applicable, KVSC will use creative discretion to resolve the conflict of a tie.

Rule Ten:
The deadline to register is 4:30pm Friday, February 8. The Awards Ceremony will be held at 8pm Sunday the Ritsche Auditorium in SCSU’s Stewart Hall. A Post-Trivia Party (at the Red Carpet nightclub) will follow the ceremony. Detoxify with the Shake A Hamster Band!

• Visual Trivia:
  Every team will receive a packet of photographs, individually numbered. Periodically throughout the contest a question may be asked about any of the photographs or images provided. Visual Trivia will be available soon. Check back in a couple weeks for visual trivia. And no, as per policy, we will NOT scan the images to this web-site either. We like to see your smiling faces in person (and it gives us a good idea how many teams are registered early and avoiding the rush at the end).
  
  
• Audio Trivia:
  You are encouraged to have a recording device handy to record random audio trivia questions. However, KVSC will repeat audio trivia questions when they are featured.
  
  
• Election Challege Line:
  This is a number you may call to vocalize your "challenge" to other teams and the KVSC staff. Poems, political rants and assorted ramblings are encouraged. The challenge line is 320.308.5475.
