Veterans Day Programming at St. Cloud State University

Nov 10, 2022 @ 1:30 pm - 5:00 pm

St. Cloud State University’s Veterans Resource Services is inviting you to their Veterans Day Programming.

As St. Cloud State will have offices closed on Friday, Nov. 11th (Veterans Day), they’ll be taking the Welcome Back Veterans Photo on Thursday, Nov. 10th at noon, followed with a Veterans Day program and social at 12:10 p.m.

This year’s speakers include Combat veteran Paul Braun . He’ll share his story of service in Iraq with the MN National Guard, the brother he found in his interpreter, and his attempts to bring his interpreter and family to the U.S. following his departure.  Paul’s story has been featured on CBS, made into a TV show, as well as an award-winning and Emmy-nominated documentary called The Interpreters.

The other presenter is Terry Eiken. On Christmas Eve of 1969, Minnesota resident, Terry Eiken, received a draft notice.  Eiken had plans to attend college and work on his education after high school, but the draft changed all of this.  Terry was #3 in the first Vietnam draft lottery held where he shortly found himself on the other side of the world serving in an Air Cavalry Unit.

Join the Veterans Resource on Thursday, November 10th at noon in the Atwood Memorial Center’s Alumni Room.to give thanks to those who pledged an oath to serve and protect this democracy.
