Archived: Men’s Hockey Tops Manitoba 7-4

St. Cloud State fans got a first taste of what is to come in the 2010-11 season at National Hockey Center Saturday night. The St. Cloud State Men’s Hockey team took the ice for the first time, and beat the University of Manitoba 7-4 in Exhibition play.

The Huskies skated eight new freshmen players, and they made a big impact on the scoreboard. Forward Mitch MacMillan registered a goal and an assist, Bryce Johnson scored the final goal, and Cam Reid added a helper.

Junior forward Drew LeBlanc also scored twice for St. Cloud, who struck three consecutive times in the third to break the 4-4 tie. The Huskies travel to Omaha, Nebraska this weekend for a tournament where they will take on RIT Friday afternoon and Clarkson Saturday.
