In this Untold Story of Central Minnesota, KVSC Music Consultant John Drake talks with St. Cloud based guitar player Mark Hasbrouck and bassist J Ellingson—two members of the band Surahoolies.

Hasbrouck and Ellingson visited the KVSC studios before Surahoolies most recent reunion performance in August of 2024. This is part two of a two-part feature.

In this episode, we learn about memorable gigs the band played during the late 1990s, the band’s eventual hiatus, and the beginning of Surahoolies’ reunion shows, ten years after their break-up. Mark and J also discuss their recent outside projects and musical influences going into the future.
