The Untold Story of the Governor’s Fishing Opener in St. Cloud
In this “experimental” installment of the Untold Stories of Central Minnesota, it’s Fishing on the Radio as Arts & Cultural Heritage Producer Jeff Carmack takes us to the shores of the Mississippi River for Governor Dayton’s 2017 Fishing Opener, which took place for the first time in its 70 year existence in St. Cloud on May 13, 2017.
This isn’t your typical Untold Story, however, because as everyone knows, when it comes to fishing there is a more meditative depth to the sport that is often thrust upon the angler. This Untold Story today is all about exploring that lucid patience fishing requires as both an honor to the Fishing Opener and homage to the new and incredibly popular Norwegian trend called Slow TV.
In other words, today Jeff Carmack and his friend Syd Kelley take us Fishing on the Radio!
